Jumada-Al-Awwal, also spelt as Jumaada-Al-Oola, is the fifth month of the Islamic calendar. It corresponds to the period between June and July in the Gregorian calendar. Literally it means the first month of summer, where ‘Jumada’ means dry. Sometimes the name of this month is abbreviated to Jumada 1.
