Jhil

Jhil is a one-side drum, which was used in the olden times to make an announcement. This drum formed a pair with the much bigger Nagara drum and was placed on the left side of it while playing.

The body of the Jhil is made of copper. The open end is covered with animal hide. The overall structure is similar to the Nagara, only difference being its smaller size. This drum is beaten with small sticks.
