Jhala

Jhala is a distinctive and highly rhythmic pattern of higher notes associated with instrumental music. Because of fast paced alternation of main melody string and Chikara (a fretless string instrument), permutations of Raga and Tala occur at the same time. This exciting style can be experienced on reciting string instruments such as Sitar and Sarod.
