Jawali lies on the Pathankot-Kangra rail route, in the north-western part of Kangra District. Bharmar is 6 km west and Anur is 10 km south. Other prominent places nearby are Fatehpur, Kotla, Shahpur and Padal.
Bathu ki Larhi (a cluster of antique temples), Nagrota Suriyan (an ideal destination for bird watchers), Kangra Fort and Pong Dam are the nearest tourist spots. The Beas River flows close by.
