Jangli Pikvan

Indian Ipecac

Jangli pikvan (Tylophora asthmatica) is a perennial climbing plant found in the plains, forests and hills of southern and eastern India.

The leaves and root have many medicinal importances. Medicine made out of it is traditionally prescribed as a remedy for bronchial asthma, bronchitis, rheumatism and dermatitis. Tylophora, alkaloid tylophorine, is also isolated from this plant.
