Jamukula Katha

Jamukula Katha is a form of story telling existing in Andhra Pradesh. Jamukula Katha is performed with aid of a musical instrument called Pamba, a stringed percussion. The instrument is in a pair and the chief narrator plays the bigger one whereas the assistant plays the smaller instrument. The themes of Jamukula Katha are based on the stories from Puranas and epics.
