Indian Tree Pie (Dendrocitta vagabunda) is a long-tailed chestnut-brown bird, with sooty head and neck. It has a black-tipped tail and grayish-white wing patches noticeable in flight. At flight, it makes a swift noisy flapping followed by a short glide on outspread wings and tail. It is widely seen in scrub jungles. The bird eats fruits, insects, lizards, frogs, centipedes and even carrion, in addition to the eggs and helpless young of birds and rodents. Nesting season is from February to July.
