Indian Eagle Wood




Indian eagle wood (Botanical name, Aquilaria agallocha) is a tropical deciduous tree, which can be grown in both open and partial shade. It is also known as Agar and Sasi.

On distillation, it produces very valuable oil, Agar oil, which has high export value. Propagation is by seed raised seedlings. Artificial inducing of agar in live trees is also possible.
