Indian Arrowroot




Indian Arrowroot (Botanical names, Maranta arundinaceae) is a native of West Indies. It is an herbaceous perennial plant common in West Bengal. The plant has a creeping rhizome with upward-curving, fleshy, cylindrical tubers covered with large, thin scales that leave rings of scars.

Arrowroot possesses demulcent properties. It is helpful in bowel complaints.
