Imperial Eagle (Aquila heliaca) is a very large eagle (length 80 cm, wingspan 200 cm), with long, broad, prominently fingered wings. It has a protruding head and neck and a relatively long, square-ended tail. The bill is large and the nostril oval.
Adults are very dark brown or blackish with an obvious pale golden-yellow hind-crown and nape and white marks on the upper scapulars. The tail is grayish with a broad black tip.
The bird's nest is visible from a long way off as they are built in trees, which are not surrounded by other trees. Usually the nest is built with tree branches, which are upholstered with grass and feather. In March or April, the female lays two or three eggs.
The bird is seen in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
