Ilayappam is a traditional Kerala sweet made from rice flour pancake stuffed with grated coconut, jaggery and banana filling, flavored with cardamom and cloves, which is then sealed into a banana leaf and steamed. A much adored food item of the region, it is best when taken along with the evening tea or coffee.
