Inder Kumar Gujral was born at Jhelum on December 4, 1919. The twelfth prime minister of India, he actively took part in India's freedom struggle, and was jailed in 1942 during 'Quit India Movement'. He was a member of the Union Cabinet from 1967 to 1976, and 1989 to 1990. I K Gujral also held posts such as Minister of External Affairs, ambassador to USSR.
