Hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla) is a summer flowering shrub of Hydrangeaceae family.
It is characterized by large, medium to dark green, luxuriant leafage with round ball shaped cluster of flowers. Flowers are seen in different colors like blue, dark purple, white, green and pink. Depending on the ph-factor of the soil, the color of the flower varies - blue in acidic soil and pink in alkaline soil. A single hydrangea produces both pink and blue flowers.
Flowers last long as cut flowers. Common names are French hydrangea, Big leaf, Snowball, and Japanese Hydrangea.
