Howly




Situated at an altitude of 141 ft above sea level, Howly is a town in Barpeta District of Assam. The place is bounded by Raha in the west, Buri Khamar in the north and Bhawanipur in the east. Howly is about 12 km north of Barpeta.

Masjid-E-Huma is a prime attraction here. Sundaridiya Satra, Chinpara Vithi, Patbaushi Satra, Ganakkuchi Satra and Baradi Satra constitute interesting excursions outside the town.

The nearest railhead is Barpeta Road Railway Station, 21 km from Barpeta town. Regular bus connects Howly with Barpeta and Bhella.
