Hirakot Fort


Hirakot, also known as Diamond fort, is one of the historic forts in Thane. Formerly used as the town jail, the fort was handed over to the Mauritius government as an emigration depot in 1861. Presently, the fort houses the offices of the Prant Officer and the Police Inspector.
