Henbane




Henbane is a native of Himalayas and is found up to an altitude of 12,000 ft high. It is an erect, hairy and viscid herb with bad smell.

Hyoscyamine, hyoscine, cuscohygrine, apohyoscine and belladonnine are the principal alkaloids seen in Henbane. Henbane is mainly recognized as a sedative in nervous affections and irritable situations, such as asthma and whooping cough.
