Harsud was a 700-year-old town in
Khandwa District. It was submerged by the waters of the Indira Sagar dam in July, 2004.
Founded by King Harshavardhana, Harsud was located upstream of the Indira Sagar Dam built on the Narmada River. It is about 235 km south-west of Bhopal.
