Harita Smriti is one of the
Dharma Shastras (Law books for ancient Indian society). It deals mainly deals about women.
Harita Smriti mentions two types of women, Brahmavadinis (students of sacred studies), and Sadyovadhus (those who get married without studies).
It asserts the women’s right to sacred begging. It also supported the Sati system (Hindu widow burning herself on husband's funeral).
