Hanumanathi River




Hanumanathi originates at an altitude of 1650 m above Kuttalam, in the Tenkasi taluk, Tirunelveli District. It traverses downhill for about 10 km, receives its tributary Karuppanathi, before joining with Chittar near the Surandai village. Various dams constructed across the river are Mettukal , Karisalkulam, Panpoli, Vallalkulam, Elathoor, Nainaragavan, Pungamkal and Kambli dams.
