Hanuman Chalisa

Hanuman Chalisa is religious book dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Regarded as one of most sacred books of the Hindus, it portrays the utter devotion of Lord Hanuman towards Lord Ram. The word ‘chalisa’ literally means forty, indicating the number of verses in this holy book. The composition of Hanuman Chalisa is attributed to poet-saint Tulsidas (1532-1623). The verses in Hanuman Chalisa are sung either by individuals or in religious gatherings. It is believed that a person reading this text will be blessed with good health, protection and spiritual success. Reading of this book is considered equivalent to chanting Hanuman’s name.
