Hanuman Ashtak

Hanuman Ashtak is a popular collection of verses dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The word ‘ashtak,’ meaning eight, indicates the number of verses in the collection.

Lord Hanuman, known for his strength and devotion, is mostly worshipped during Tuesdays and Saturdays. During the special ceremony held for the worship, the verses from Hanuman Ashtak are recited along with those from the Hanuman Chalisa. Religious persons usually recommend meditating on the lord while reciting these verses. A sincere prayer containing these verses is said to assure a devotee with knowledge and strength.
