Gulikan




Gulikan is a God of many moods. He may be conceived as an unpredictable god, depending on his character, which is different in different shrines. In Hindu scriptures, Gulikan is the God of death, called Yama. He is Lord Shiva’s most potent warrior. In Theyyams, Gulikan's dance steps are the most complicated ones. The flowers of Plumeria trees that grow on the Kavu are Gulikan’s favorite flowers. According to Hindu belief Gulikan’s position in the horoscope indicates when the person will die. Gulikan is mainly worshipped by fishermen community.
