Greater Spotted Eagle (Aquila clanga) is identified by its dark brown plumage with a strong, purplish gloss on its upper parts. It is about 65 cm in length and has a wingspan of 160 cm.
The head and neck are pale and tail is barred. The feet are yellow while the eyes are brown. The bird is commonly seen near lakes, canals and marshes. It feeds on carrion, rodents, reptiles and ground birds.
