Greater Scaup

Greater Scaup (Aythya marila) is a kind of duck (about 33 cm) which belongs to the family Anatidae of order Anseriformes. It is found in Haryana and rarely in Delhi. The wingspan (dark colour) is about 78 cm. The remarkable feature of Greater Scaup is glossy, greenish, rounded crown and yellow eyes. The males and female look alike.

Greater Scaup can be seen in Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary at Bharatpur in Rajasthan.
