Great Orange Tip (Hebomoia glaucippe autrialis), one of the largest butterfly having a strong and swift flight, is seen in forests, hills, and heavy rainfall areas of India. It always flies far above the ground.
The underparts of the wings are lined with brown or reddish cryptic markings (look like a dead leaf). The insect is fond of flowers and damp patches, and visits open plains rarely. Great Orange Tip is an avid mud puddler and is found actively following the river system.
