Great Cormorant




Great Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) is a large, dark water bird of about 30 inches. It has a long, hooked bill and long tail. Three to four eggs are laid in a nest of seaweed or twigs. The bird feeds on the sea, in estuaries and on fresh water lakes and rivers.

Great Cormorant can be seen in the Bhindawas Bird Sanctuary, Haryana.
