Great Black Vein Butterfly




One of the commonest butterflies of low elevations, Great Black Vein (Aporia agathon) is widely distributed in Shillong, Mylliem and Barapani towns of Meghalaya. The wing is black with white streaks. The upper surface of the forewing is dotted with black. The insect is seen flying in fairly open and highly wooded areas.
