Gray winged Blackbird




Gray winged Blackbird (Turdus boulboul) is a scarce winter visitor found in wooded areas of Haryana. The male has broad grey wing patch, which contrasts with black rest of plumage. The abdomen is black with grey scaling and eye-ring is yellow. The bill is more orange than Common Blackbird.

Female of the species is uniform olive brown with pale reddish brown wing panel. The bird is a rare species. Gray winged Blackbird prefers dry scrub or evergreen montane forests.
