Gray Goral (Scientific name, Nemorhaedus goral), a stocky goat-like animal, is one of the best recognized Himalayan animals, often seen near hill-stations.
Hair is coarse, forming a small crest on the neck. Gray Goral is commonly seen in yellowish gray color, suffused with black. The upper lip, chin, underside of the jaws, and throat patch are white. Height is around 26 to 28 inches at shoulder, and weight ranges between 25 to 30 kg.
Brown Goral, found in Sikkim, is another variety of the species in India.
