Gray Francolin

Gray Partridge



Gray Francolin (Francolinus pondicerianus) has orange throat, cheeks and forehead. Its breast and abdomen are greyish-buff with dark barring. The bird feeds on grain, seeds, termites and insects. It is a very common breeding resident. Males are slightly larger and develop spurs.

Gray Francolin can be seen in the Bir Shikargarh Wildlife Sanctuary, Haryana.
