Government Gliding Centre is located on the east of
Pune in
Maharashtra. Situated on the Deccan Plateau, it offers training in para-gliding for pilots. The centre maintains a fleet of Puchacz, DG 500, ASK 21, Grob two seaters, Puchatek and L-23 Super Blanik gliders. Hostels and club houses are available for visiting pilots. It operates from Sunday to Thursday.
Pune, well-connected by roads, is 170 km south of
Mumbai and 142 km from
Thane.
Pune Lohegaon Airport and
Pune Junction Railway Station are the major access points.
