Gna




Gna is a two-faced frame drum similar to Daf. Both sides are covered and there is a long handle to hold the drum. The stick, which is used to beat the drum, has a peculiar curve shape. This percussion instrument is used by the inhabitants of the Himalayas, for performing Lama Dance. The drum is also believed to have a supernatural power of curing illness. A bigger variety called Gna Chen is hung on frames and beaten.
