Giarahveen Sharif

Giarahveen Sharif is an important festival of Sunnis, the largest denominations in Muslims. It falls on the 11th day of the Islamic calendar of Rabi-us-Sani. It is celebrated in honour of Abdul Qadir Jilani, a luminary who is believed to be a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad. Apart from special prayers, sweets and flowers are offered in his memory.
