Ghogha

Ghogha is an ancient town, 23 km from Bhavnagar. It is believed that this place was a major center of business during ancient times. The three ancient Digambar Jain temples elevate Ghogha to the position of a pilgrim center. Chopra Mandir is a famous temple dedicated to Bhagwan Chandra Prabhu, the 8th Tirthankar and Bhagwan Nemi Nath. A large number of ancient idols are installed in the temples of Ghogha. The idol supposed to be 2500 years old is the major draw. Gujarati Mandir and Dandia Mandir are the other temples worth visiting. Located on the banks of the Gulf of Cambay, Ghogha draws thousands of tourists and pilgrims daily. By road, Palitana, Songarh and Girnarji are easily accessible from Ghogha. Bhavnagar Railway Station is 21 km from here and Bhavnagar Airport is the nearest airport.
