Gavimutha is an old and noted Veerashaiva Mutt situated close to Koppal Parshwanath Basadi
. The vicinity of this mutt was once the center of Jaina and Veerashaiva religion and culture. Gavimutha is associated with a saint called Gavisiddeshwara, from where an Ashoka
edict was excavated. Around the mutt lie several Jain idols and inscriptions which have great archeological importance.
