Garudakodi, a twining shrub which is slender and woody at base, grows throughout India. It is common in the seashores and scrub jungles. The shrub is characterized by simple, alternate, linear to oblong leaves; greenish white flowers and deltoid to ovate seeds. Garudakodi is useful in fever, worms and wounds. Other names are Perumarunthukodi, Paambu kadi ver, Thazhaisuruli kodi and Kozhikkundu.
