Varanasi, one of the most sacred Hindu cities in India, celebrates a spectacular festival that take place along the ghats of the
Ganges in November, called the Ganga Mahotsava.
Thousands of Hindu pilgrims float oil lamps, during this six day festival. Various cultural events including folk dances and songs are staged. Different events held at several venues in the city display the arts, crafts and culture of the region.
