Gandhar




Gandhar is a beautiful village on the shore of the Arabian Sea, about 13 km from Parvajan in Bharuch District. It belongs to the Vagara taluk of Gujarat. The reputed saint Vijaysensurishwarji is believed to have blessed this village with his presence on the invitation of Akbar, the Mughal emperor. The major point of attraction is Shri Gandhar Tirth, a renowned Jain temple. This temple has a white colored idol of Bhagwan Parshwanath in Padmasana posture. Gandhar Beach is a famous tourist spot which draws a large number of tourists. Lodging facilties are available here. By road, Bharuch is 26 km from Gandhar and the major railhead, Bharuch Junction Railway Station, is located there.
