Gadwal




Gadwal in Mahabubnagar District is 60 km northwest of Kurnool. It is renowned for the Chennakesava Swamy Temple, built by the Rajas of Gadwal in the 17th century. Gadwal is also famous for cotton and silk sarees in attractive designs. About 20 km from Gadwal is the Kurumurthy village, which is the site of Sri Kurumurthy Srinivasa Swamy Temple.

Gadwal is about 150 km southwest of Hyderabad. Gadwal Railway Station is on the Kurnool-Hyderabad line.
