French War Memorial is situated on the Goubert Avenue (Beach Road) in Pondicherry. It is a peaceful promenade and commemorates those who sacrificed their lives in First World War.

A solemn ceremony named Bastille Day is organized every 14 July. The memorial is illuminated on this occasion.
