Frankincense (Boswellia sacra) is a deciduous tree having pinnate leaves and small green-white flowers. It can be grown on variety of soil textures, commonly in shallow and rocky soil.
Frankincense is cultivated for its gum, which is collected from incisions made in the bark. It is used to increase the production of white blood cells, and as a chief ingredient in commercial face creams. The oil possesses antiseptic property.
