Ficus Racemosa

Ficus Racemosa is a medium sized tree bearing rich green leaves, which provides good shade. The fruits are obovate in shape with innumerable tiny grain-like seeds and resemble figs.

Glycosides, ß-sitosterol and lupeol, tannins and psoralens are isolated from the plant. Ficus is considered to be a stringent, carminative, vermifuge and anti-dysentery drug. It is used for excessive appetite. Extract of the fruit is given in case of diabetes, leucoderma and nienorrhagia.
