Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata) is a scarce passage migrant. It is the largest wader in its range at 50 to 57 cm length and with a 1 m wingspan. The bird is generally grayish brown, with a white back and a very long curved bill (6 inches).
The bird feeds by probing soft mud for small invertebrates, but will also pick small crabs and earthworms.
The bird can be seen in the wetlands of Haryana.
