Eurasian Cuckoo is found in forest, woodland and bushy scrub. It is about 33 cm long. The bird is bluish-grey and barred beneath and has a long, rounded tail.
The bird feeds on caterpillars as well as other insects, spiders and molluscs. It also takes nestlings and eggs of small birds. It is mainly shy and solitary, on passage they may be seen in flocks of 10 or more. The females lay up to 12 eggs each in a separate nest.
