Ethirelpu




Ethirelpu is a ritual, popular in every temple as a part of the festivities. The idol of the temple will be taken out in a procession around the temple. It will be accompanied by young girls bearing the Thalappoli. Ethirelpu starts either from entrance of the temple or from the trees (Sal and Pala) in the temple compound. Moving around the temple thrice, the Ethirelpu will enter the temple.
