Eran

Eran is truly a treasure trove of breathtaking scenery and great landscape value. This historical place lies at the junction of Bina and Reuta rivers, around 7 km from Bamora. Eran got its name from Eraka, a sort of grass with emollient and diligent properties. This village, famous for its archaeological relics, had a number of Vishnu shrines, but nothing now remains except some of the lower courses of masonry. Eran is home to a fort belonging to the Dangis, who formerly dominated over this region. The excavation conducted by the Department of Archaeology of the University of Sagar proves that the relics found here are similar to those found at Maheshwar and Tripuri. Saugor Railway Station is the closest major railway station and Bhopal Airport is the nearest airport.
