Epipactis is a terrestrial orchid, which grows in moist slopes. The orchid is characterized by creeping rootstock and fibrous roots. The stems are erect with stem clasping ovate to linear lanceolate leaves. Flowers are greenish, veined red with a yellowish center seen in spikes.
