In Vedic religion, Dyaus Pita is the Sky Father, husband of Goddess Prithvi and father of
Agni and
Indra. Prithvi and Dyaus Pita are originally treated as one entity called Dyavaprithvi. Dyaus Pita is presented in two forms, as a reddish bull blowing thunder and as a black horse adorned with pearls.
Dyaus Pita was killed by his own son Indra. Indra grabs him by the foot and pulls him out of the sky to fall to his death.
