Durva

Durva is a hardy perennial grass, found throughout India up to an altitude of 8,000 ft. It has creeping culms, rooting at nodes and forming spreading mats on the surface of the soil. It is also known as Haritali.

It is diuretic, and useful in dropsy and anasarca. The expressed juice is astringent, and is applied to bleeding cuts and wounds. Rhizomes are used in genito-urinary disorders.

Dhub Grass and Bermuda Grass are its English names.
