Duggi Tarang is a popular innovative instrument of India. It utilizes the Duggi, which is the left side drum of the Tabla, for its arrangement. This instrument was created by Shri Abani Das Gupta, a musician of great repute.
Duggi Tarang is formed by placing 3 Duggies together. The diameter of these drums varies from 13 to 17 cm, depending on the required tone. They are placed in increasing order of tone pitches. These drums are metal bodied, usually brass, and have a tuning rod for the easy tuning. The heads are easily replaceable.
